Think this is super over valued. Tell me why otherwise? PS: I am looking to go short this name in the next few days/weeks.
https://blog.mywallst.com/should-i-buy-roku-stock/ I’m an investor because I believe cable is being dismantled, and COVID has bootstrapped streaming habits into people’s daily lives even more than before
Graduated college 5 years ago and have never bought cable and never intend to. Streaming has all that me and my family need to watch on TV.
Zoom has a revenue of 1.35B with a market cap of 135B. You should short that instead, following your line of thinking. Two bits of advice: 1) make sure you can handle being down 2) If you buy put contracts, be sure to give them at least 6 months expiration date. Also, don’t quote the stock price. By itself it’s meaningless, without knowing the number of outstanding shares. More relevant factors are revenue, revenue growth, cash flow, market cap, debt, etc.
I was going to short at $250. Happy I didn't
There is a difference. Zoom is profitable vs Broku is not. Roku is losing a lot of money to keep stay afloat in competition with Amazon and Google. This cannot go forever and it will eventually hit them back significantly.
Price to sales ratio is meaningless for growth companies. Snowflake is not profitable and has a ratio of 156. Roku's is 17. For a comparable company look at TTD (38)
Turns out Roku has a new price target. Analysts are expecting $255. Congratulations Roku employees. I am sure you guys are swimming in $$$.
Short then. I just looked up financials. Doesn't justify it's 1B sales to 25 B valuation. It's insane and definitely riped for massive correction.
$1B sales to $25B is a huge ratio for most value-play linear companies. Roku is among the class of compounders who are seeing huge growth. That P/E ratio normalizes over time. Google had a P/E of 60 at the end of 2017. Does that mean you shouldn’t buy? It’s up 50% since then. But certainly if you want to bet against that go ahead and short.
Well this Google guy was fired from Roku because of bad performance or not hired after his interview. Anyways that’s good news for Roku because we do no need arrogant people. Search for other Roku posts. This guy goes by different names immi_g, mightybro, eb2, etc Do not pay attention to what he says
