Tech managers are given too much power
People working at Walmart have a very low bar of entry. It’s not a career. It’s a job. You get fired because you show up intoxicated and you work down the street the next day. Career it looks bad.
Yeah but how is it my problem if corporate is full of bs
You can leave once or twice if you say the culture wasn’t a fit. Do it a lot and you’re going to be a walking red flag
To actually ramp up an employee to start knowing SOME of the nooks and crannies of a service and have them produce something useful besides some small task here and there it normally takes like 6-8 months of onboarding
In a professional job, it takes months and a lot of your colleague’s time before you’re much use. If you leave after 6 months, it just wastes everyone’s time. Not to mention 20% of your year one base if an external recruiter introduced you. On the other hand, I work for a job site, so fully support quick job hopping
Because companies want someone who will shut up and take the abuse without leaving.
Just got for it and make up a reason. Tell them how you like the work but you see a disconnect and that you like to work on XYZ instead.
Pain in the rear to onboard someone properly and then to have to got through recruiting process and on boarding all over again soon after. Most hiring manager will prefer to not have to waste time on this when possible.
