Lack of innovation
How by hiring bunch of PMs who don't know how to code. Making it tougher for SDEs to get a job by making the leetcode and expectations harder? Creativity takes time and experience, not just by raising the bar higher
Most of what you’re mentioning is social media and it’s just a super saturated and lower (than historical) growth market now. It’s not just social media but the demand side of the equation is individual’s time, most of the world that is sellable to is already on the internet now and everybody only has a finite amount of time to spend in their day doom scrolling. There is a lot of “real” innovation still out there and happening it just isn’t really consumer facing
I have been preaching to the choir for years WE DON'T NEED ANYMORE SOCIAL MEDIA APPS
Still at meta ?

Interesting to see that your career is the only one that flopped like in past tense and also capital letters. Would you care for elaborating?
I got stuck in the mud at burning man and now I can't work.
how did you escape? I saw vids of chris rock hitchhiking to get out lmao
I also want to add I didn't include Facebook, Youtube, and IG as they are all technically in their flop era but because they had a good healthy run until they didn't.
Because most things aren’t successful? The idea that everything is a success is a logical fallacy where we only remember successes Think about how many tv shows were cancelled first season. You don’t remember them because they weren’t successful

Tech companies to avoid as a white guy?
Because most of these are driven by greed and things that aren’t inherently solving any problems.

True innovation in the valley died when the MBA bros latched on to tech like a bunch of leeches. Actual hackers are second class compared to VCs and frat boy/sorority girl PMs.
