I recall reading that MS isn't included in FAANG because they aren't consider innovative enough. FAANG originated from high performance stocks around 2013. Fast forward to today, F does not perform as well as AANG in the stock market, and when I think about it, F isn't particularly innovative either. Microsoft is knocked for "buying" innovation (Github, etc). But Facebook has done the same (Instagram, Oculus, Whatsapp). To me, it seems like M should be in FAANG if F is in FAANG in today's landscape. So, do you think F should still be considered in FAANG? If so, why? If not, why? Should M be added to FAANG?
F is grossly undervalued in the current market.
I would go for TAANG (T for Tesla)
What companies are POOTIE?
M got a pretty sweet $20 billion treat today from the US army. They've turned around Azure to be a somewhat dominant player in cloud compared to gcp and others. Whatever my bald man Satya is doing is nothing short of a 360 innovation roller coaster. It should be MANGA
Does N deserve to be in faang? Does G? Same issues
If we're heavily basing it on stock performance, then yes, I would say they do. N's innovation is indeed lacking from a technical standpoint, but they are still innovating in the production/film space. G is too much of a market leader in an irreplaceable space - they are advertisers first and foremost. That business is rock solid. F is largely based on social media, which is a very fickle space
Let’s remove Netflix and replace with MSFT while we’re at it. That would make the acronym MAGA. Trump’s plan all along?
Nice “MAANG”.
Andy Jassy’s voice was in my head !!😆 when I read this.
wasted time reading this
Like people waste time on FB 😜
Because whether you like it or not, many of the best engineers (and everyone else) will chase $$$. Compare F to M in the TC department. If you have offers from both, where would you go?
FB is more innovative than Microsoft. AR/VR, which FB is a market leader in, will take over the world in 5-10 years.
Facebook’s only innovations center around using user data to more effectively make them buy stuff they don’t need, padding your real customer’s (advertisers) wallet. That’s not innovation, that’s exploitation. Lol at AR/VR taking over the world.
