Now a days, my LinkedIn wall is full of - People bragging about getting in FAANG when they just only got in Amazon - Every other Amazon guy is starting his YouTube channel on leetcode questions and explaining the same question which is explained by 100 other Amazonians on youtube - A blue coat guy writing about his failures in school and how he overcame his fucking shitty fears and now he is successful, working as Data scientist in Sony. - A samsung guy teaching the meaning of struggle and teaching why we are not struggling enough and why no roadmap works. FYI : In hand salary of Samsung SWE India - 1000$ / Month - A girl with specs comparing Nokia stock value and apple stock value in 2007 Vs 2017, and writing below : time and tide wait for none. - Someone posting certificate of a shitty course on DevOps from udemy where he learnt all DevOps in 4 hours and he is ready to crush the silicon valley. - A guy copy pasting thousandth of a time the same stuff - How he interviewed someone and there was a lot of background noise/candidate have employment gap and he still gave the offer. - Some weird fuck teaching me that O stands for opportunity and that's why it's not in yesterday but in today. Wtf ? I made a huge mistake selecting my LinkedIn connections I guess, I need some removals / a new account.
Linkedin is the haven for progressives to shine light on shit no one cares about
I know dude. It's like fb now
In many ways worse then FB.

tl;dr Why do you care so much about these other people? Way more important things to worry about instead
I agree with the fact that things are cringy but at the end of the day everyone is trying out things to add value to their profiles/generate income . On a more positive note , you can take inspiration to start something on your own and not look down upon anyone trying to mmake themselves better.
These all things add 0 value brah, Instead people can write about how to scale a system from 0 to a million users and recruiters/fellow engineers will love that.
+1 to OP
LinkedIn is a social network and it ended up like all of them: full of bs and self marketing. The only reason why it lagged behind other social networks is that there used to be some respect for being professionals, not anymore today
These people have worked hard for something or are working hard to build something. That might be beneath your professional accomplishments. But I would advise you to be a little more empathetic and not belittle someone’s work, no matter how small!
I am just saying, posting 10 life rules of Nikolas Tesla is no one's achievement man, it's just Tesla's achievement and it's readily available on YouTube, why will someone post it on LinkedIn. And I don't have any professional achievements, just another guy trying to make my way by doing things which I find meaningful and these things have ain't no meaning.
Fuck off lol
They do not have a life! Job is just one part of it, and there are so many things which can make you happy besides jobs and tc.
“only got in Amazon” - you’re part of the problem
Putting Amazon and Google in same basket is a disrespect to Google.
Imagine looking down on someone for working at Amazon instead of Google. Pathetic tech wagies really like living in their naive bubble huh.
