Why the fuck am I paying SS tax and Medicare as a H1?
I just switched in status from F1 to H1 and now my paycheck is way lower due to social security tax and Medicare. Why the fuck am I paying for this when I'm not getting the benefits of them. This is bullshit! How do I opt out?

You can opt out by going back to F1 status or the country you are originally from.
I agree with the sentiment, but this is a poor answer. OP would have to pay taxes towards welfare in their own country too. Truth is, OP would complain about any taxes they could justify not paying.

The working pay for the retired. That's the way it works. You aren't paying for yourself you are paying for others. Most Americans are confused by this as well.
