Meta executives have better ideas about the revenue/cost/structure in their company, why don’t they do it by themselves to save the consulting fees? #tech #meta #bain
To avoid difficult discussions probably lol
To avoid responsibility. "Bain told us, sorry"
There really busy surfing in Hawaii while the people there about to fire randomly with 0 notice are working to support them. Hope Zuck didn’t get a sunburn
Their = shows belonging There = goes with where They're = They are
What?? Someone posted seeing Bain consultants at Apple. Is Apple next with layoff?
Yea I saw them too near the visitor center. Thing is, this is not the first time I am seeing them here. Saw them a couple of times in the pandemic. Could just be a coincidence but you never know given they were involved in meta layoffs and are also reported to be involved in upcoming Google layoffs.
How did their algo decide who to lay off? Managers only found out hours before and were not consulted in the process.
This is what I want to know. I was impacted and feel like I need to know why
You dunno Bain? Cuz he’s bane.
To handle the legality of the situation and avoid any law suits. They also laid off people on fmla and maternity leave. Offcourse Bain will handle if these people decide to go to court.
The legal requirement varies in different countries and different states
That’s terrible. I did a stint at Bain and the worst project any of my coworkers did was a layoff. The guy was an associate consultant (so just a college degree and in his first job with no experience). He had to put all the employees into a spreadsheet and develop a performance model to decide who to let go. The reality is this type of engagement is to let the management shirk responsibility and have perceived legal cover for the layoff targets.
What’s the performance model based on? I didn’t even have my formal review yet. Did they ask managers for input? My manager told me he was not consulted and was not part of the process. He found out the day of.
Sounds like bullshit
