Rejected my TikTok offer. Something I’m gonna regret?
I guess once web3 takes over and a16z owns our data err I mean the people do instead of big tech like Google we'll need GCP to host all the node infrastructure
TC or GTFO.
$1.1M - I am happy with the growth of either
Ad industry is expected to be $1.08T by 2027. Cloud market is also expected to be $1T in market size. Google cloud has 9% share in cloud today but I couldn’t find Google’s ad market share including offline advertising. 9% market of $1 cloud market is $90B. If market share doesn’t change, Google Cloud speculated in 2026 is already behind Google’s ad rev of $150B in 2021 itself. So no, unless GCP earns market share from Azure / AWS, Cloud rev will not exceed search revenue .
But GCP is earning market share from Azure/AWS. Also where does $1T come from? Do you include AI services? The addressable Cloud market would be much larger.
The keywords I use is: - cloud market share (to find independent surveys of each cloud service provider) - cloud market size (to find compound annual growth rate of cloud combined). And AI on cloud is expected to be $13B as per https://www.mordorintelligence.com/industry-reports/cloud-ai-market from $5B today. IMO, AI on cloud has an edge during training time. The deployment is still part of existing Services (ec2, s3, etc.) Fair, GCP could be earning customers from Azure / AWS. GCP need to earn $60B more revenue to match today’s Search revenue. And just to be safe for ad market size growth by 2026, maybe $200B a year net cloud rev should be good to beat search rev? That’s 20% cloud market share of $1T cloud market size.
Per Q3'21 statements, Ad revenue is about $150M, cloud is $14M. Cloud has a long way to go...
Not in the near future
There should be another option “You can’t be serious..”
if gcp provides a stable driver, i give it 0.01%. ads market is substantially bigger. at least rn
