Will I be crazy accepting a job offer at eBay San Jose when I live in San Francisco?

I live in SF, about a half hour bus ride away from the Caltrain station. And eBay is nowhere close to Diridon either. When the stars align, and I get on a bullet, the total commute time will be approximately 2 hours one way 🥵 My thought was, I can go in later and leave earlier, get some work done inside Caltrain. The hiring manager said he doesn't care about when I come in, etc. and I'm hoping he will honor that. How many of you do this same commute? Are there other ways people come to eBay from SF? Edit:TC - $215,000 USD Hybrid: 3 days a week.

Are you nuts? 4 hours a day commuting ... for eBay? Also TC or GTFO

Crazy idea. You won’t survive a week

eBay mgdg66w Mar 24

I know few that do that commute and carpool, but there is an eBay office in SF (probably sales teams) near SFDC which you can badge in. Discuss that option with your boss.

eBay flark Mar 25

Get it in writing if you can. You'll be forced to come to office 3d weekly. It will only increase in the future.

It's actually fine. I saw people do that and they work on caltrain. Ebay doesn't follow very strict rto check

eBay eKxg85 Mar 25

Haha…ask if they offer a shuttle

eBay Hkejdbj Mar 25

No Shuttle

eBay Owa7b Mar 25

I change it up between educational stuff and fiction to pass the time. Works alright. But I also like road trips and know that not everyone does.

I think part of your response may be missing 😂. Sounds like you take Caltrain?

eBay Truth_pwer Mar 25

Yes work out of SF office - it's nice. On Beale near corner of Mission.

eBay Hkejdbj Mar 25

Insane idea to commute from SF to SJ that too for eBay.

eBay pen7 Mar 25

There is internal talk about starting back shuttle. You might be able to use it

Someone else said that too. I hope they do start, or at least have a shuttle running frequently from Caltrain or other transit hubs.
