I’m a new grad joining Netflix in July. Do you guys think they’ll be safe from layoffs. I have a couple other offers as well, which pay less but I dunno if they may be safer. It will be a real bummer to find a place in California and then get laid off during the year. TC: 250k #netflix #layoff
Minimize expenses and don’t live outside your means and try to build up 6 month rainy find asap (I know it’s hard as new grad for first gens)
Is netflix hiring new grads now? I thought they only hired sr. Eng?
Hired 125 this year and 50 last year
No one knows the future. But.. just my opinion.. if there’s another round of layoffs at N, new grads would not be at the top of the list. Layoffs for cost reduction will target L5 folks at N That said, keeper test or perf based attrition is an interesting Netflix concept relative to PIP at other places. It is unlikely to hit you by surprise though
If you're on H1B I'd say go somewhere else.
I hope they do. Too much garbage here
What? 😂
Really I thought Netflix runs lean
Netflix is most recession proof among peers because the ads business will be small for the next couple of years. And it's good for the business when many have no jobs. Check the beginning of the pandemic for a proof
No one knows, just make sure you have emergency fund and don't commit too much financial responsibility
No one knows especially 8+ months into the future. Did anyone imagine the Meta bloodbath 8 months back ??
