Not sure what you’re talking about. Seattle is thriving. Get off Fox and take a walk. If you’re talking about homelessness or drugs, that’s a nationwide problem. It’s true that it’s worse in Seattle, and it’s partly due to policies sympathetic towards the homeless. Despite that, Seattle is thriving.

Yes the spectacular historic rate of business closings, historically highest murder rate. And astromonical car break-ins and theft make it admirable. It's gotten to where even leaving town is a jack. Your car is broken into in SeaTac parking or like that guy who just pepper sprayed car jackers in a seatac rest area, you are jacked about Seattle's future.

Yes they just need to build a lot if public housing. It's not talked about much in such blunt terms - but the East Coast has a lot of public housing. Simply becuase it boomed in the FDR era especially around WW2. Robert Moses in NY got started with huge public housing complexes first. West Coast boomed later. In the neo-liberal era when we didn't do much public housing. Hence, those with nothing got nowhere to go. Eventually after running out every other option Portland/San Franciso/Seattle will build some big nasty public towers and move on. It's better than the alternative
No. This will not solve it. The problem is drugs and a king county one party system that doesn't prosecute crimes and doesn't allow the police to chase. All you have to do is observe thriving downtowns of cities that did not go leftist crazy. I know personally several businesses that have closed operations in Seattle or king county just because of the constant shoplifting and crazy people. It might surprise you that it's true that people given their own apartment still have a tent so they can maintain themselves in the drug community and they lend out their apartment for drugs or sexual favors. There are no rules. Everyone said don't have rules people just need housing. So they reject anything shared because that doesn't have street value. Now with the stupid open borders policy Everyone in the world wants an ace free apartment. Oddly now the local desperate Seniors, the veterans, and the druggies from everywhere are last on the list in favor of whoever is crossing the border due to political pressure from the top. It is endless. But we can go back to having a police force and actually prosecuting crime.
