If you really take responsibility for failures, your only hope to become a CEO is to build your own company like Eric. If you manage to take 200% credit for every success and 0% responsibility for every failure, you will be Google’s next CEO.
Bezos and Satya are not the same. Satya is pure politician, atleast Bezos was a entrepreneur who ran the risk of failing his own company.
Let’s be fair. Zoom didn’t even overhire. The demand spiked up like crazy and you need people to meet that demand. It’s unfortunate but hiring more people was the right thing to do.
Zoom didn’t need to lay people off either if you look at our numbers. Capitulated to investor wishes for temporary stock boosting and used the current tech climate as an excuse
i agree with Zoom that they are in a good shape and didn't need layoff. however, this is true for Facebook, Google, and Microsoft as well. They are raking in dollars no need to layoff
