I’m interviewing and so far everyone seems nice, but i checked their pto policy and it seems quite limiting (theyre just abiding by legal standards).. i couldnt find anything on RTO… and it seems like you have to purchase health insurance.. seems like i’ll have to be giving up a lot tbh are they worth switching to? TC: 200k
why?
Depends, what are your other options?
i’m not entertaining anyone else .. but a recruiter reached w a role that actually aligns w my skillset & interest
Are you currently at Snap? If so, I wouldn’t leave to go to Walmart unless there’s a very compelling reason
You don't have to purchase your own health insurance. They provide HSA, PPO etc
There is a health insurance copay, no different than any other tech company I worked for. The policy is Aetna PPO with super low max out of pocket, great insurance PTO is unlimited with the usual depends on team/manager, my team asks that people don’t use more than 4 weeks a year but even that isn’t really enforced. If you are a high performing IC and you end up taking 6 weeks throughout the year no one will even notice because they’ll be praising your deliverables RTO is 2 days a week but again depends on manager, the office is so empty sometimes I’m sure some managers are completely ignoring the rule
this was ACTUALLY insightful, thank you
I guess you don't work at Sunnyvale , right ?. There are times where there is no space for sitting .
Culture is not great . The same philosophy at the store is in corporate. They expect you to work overtime all the time
I took 5 weeks last year and just finishing up a 3 week vacation now. On my team, most take 4+ weeks off. In fact, my director reached out to me mid last year worried I wasn’t taking enough off.
Most folks take about 4 weeks total. But some could get an exception based on how much their boss likes them or if they are from the same province/village back home. Know someone who joined in July and took 6 weeks off. 🤷🏽
Is it true that Walmart is not offering rsu’s at joining anymore unless you have a competing offer?
It’s not bad just consider pay - they have 2 day mandatory WFO
Don’t!
why?
