I have an interview coming up and I was wondering if anyone ever successfully negotiated wfh or coming in less than 50 percent to a Workday office during the offer process ? I live an hour away from the closest office. TC: 150K
Second what’s been said. Extremely unlikely for an app dev team. If you’re an architect level talent with something super-unique, maybe. But for P2, P3, P4, that’s not something they’ll consider.
I would say that it's currently 10x harder than it was prepandemic to get wfh authorization, and it was damned hard to get before. It was generally pretty easy to do it under the radar if your people leader was OK with it previously, and now that is also not the case. Exceptions for people who worked late due to oncall activities are also not considered.
Only if u live more than 50 miles away

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
90% of my team commutes from over an hour away. As an external hire it is extremely unlikely for you to get a pass on the 50% rule. Unless you bring in some unique skill set (which is not required on XO/ apps teams) you have no leverage as they will take the next person who will happily come into the office.
Why does it seem you are so happy about this?
Do you have to go into the exact location your team is from ? Or is it as long as you go into one of the offices
