Going for an on-site interview at Instacart for swe role. How's working there like? In terms of eng quality, culture, comp etc.
They lowballed me big time
Comp offer I got was not good. People I interviewed with made it sound like everything was on fire.
What was your offer and yoe if u don't mind?
Skip. They won’t IPO.
+1
I definitely wouldn’t leave Uber for Instacart...
Why so? Is there things you don't like about working there?
Eng culture is dying like the company in general, no vision from top to bottom
I personally like working here a lot. Eng quality is mixed, big fan of the culture (especially on my team). Comp is middling (better on average than Amazon, but worse than FB). Not sure why people say we won’t IPO. We’re not going to jump a huge amount when we IPO, but our numbers are nowhere near as bad as WeWork.
If you have to compare us to WeWork...
It’s just not IC metrics. CA’s new law will spread to other large states and take a big 20% chunk of rev. All gig economy companies are screwed.

Shouldn't be much different from Uber.
