EDIT: thanks for the responses. deal is not as good as it seems (worse WLB but similar pay), Amazon wins. Talking to a hedge fund right now, and they’re offering 500-750k in an SDE role. Can be NY or remote. Currently making 250k at Amazon in Seattle as L5. Transferred to current team about 5 months ago. Work is easy, maybe 30hrs a week. That’s basically 2x or 3x current comp. Does that seem worth it? What is the difference in culture/WLB? What can I expect? Is it really that bad to leave so early after joining a team? Prefer to hear from those with 1st hand experiences 2.5 YoE #offer #tech
YoE?
2.5
Are you a PhD? That TC is impressive for merely 2.5 yoe
Let me guess, 3rd party recruiter told you that numbers? Spoiler alert: HF people are not dumb, they won't pay you more than your market value.
What HF is allowing remote for new hires? Most of the quant firms I am seeing are dead against remote or it’s remote now and back again to the office after pandemic. Edit: Saw it’s Citadel’s NXT program in a comment.
Are you a former intern? 250k seems pretty high for L5

I mean if you don’t give a name, there’s no way to know. The HF will definitely be at 2x longer (60 hours) to what you’re doing
