How is working for Verily? I'd never heard of them before but apparently they're Google X alumni. The recruiter said they share a lot of stuff with Google. The Glassdoor reviews were pretty mixed though. I guess I'm wondering if I can expect similar things as Google (good engineering practices, smart co-workers to learn from, etc) or if Verily is some sort of inside joke to the rest of the company.
Verily is definitely not google
I worked at Verily before. Exactly like Google. All Google resources and perks, but many biology background scientist. Best Place for ppl with bio background.
Genentech and other pharma companies actually launch products.
Follow. Wondering if they really have interesting projects than the routine ETL stuff in other FANg
Oh. The recruiter offhandedly mentioned "the mosquito project" (malaria treatment or something), the "contact lens", and some other disease related stuff that I didn't catch. Btw what does ETL stand for?
Mosquito project is weird. Contact lens project almost failed. But, anyway, from perspective of biologist, they are revolutionizing the healthcare. Only google can afford moonshot projects.
