Hi - My partner is a full remote employee and is working for Kaiser. He has been told that he can’t work outside the US but can he log on remotely for a week from outside the US? We travel often but this new job is making it difficult. Has anyone done it? Is it risky? Thanks #kaiser #kaiserhiring #kaiserhiring #kaiserinterview #remote #remotework
Some of my colleagues have experienced this situation. If someone from the company enters a restricted country listed by the company, the IT/security team receives an automatic notification upon their login from the restricted country. They then notify either the individual's manager or the person directly. The best-case scenario is that the individual has a limited time to log out, while the worst-case scenario is termination. This could differ with Kaiser but I’d check if there are any restricted countries he can’t enter. Some companies are strict with this due to data violations and hacks. That, or don’t risk it all.
It's not allowed and leads to termination. You can't work outside your country until they give you the permission to do.
I didn't know they still made cars.
lol do it and report back
Of course it is risky. Can lead to immediate termination. There is a reason for restrictions on remote work outside your assigned country!
This. Kaiser is able to dictate employment terms. Breaking the rules can lead to termination. One of my husband's team members broke a similar rule. The IT department caught it and the employee was walked out the same day.
How did they catch it? What if we login via vpn?
