Just received an offer today that is above my current salary and I’ll be accepting it. What are benefits and WLB like at Yahoo for non-tech roles? Specifically, I’ll be working in media partnerships TC: $215k YOE: 4
Are you in sales ? What exactly will you be working on?
Partnerships with media brands. Essentially yahoo syndicates content from all the top media companies (Hearst, Condé Nast, Disney, etc) across their different platforms and im essentially the account manager for those partnerships
Does that still exist outside of Yahoo Fantasy Football?
The have a pretty good news operation. A bit like Huffington Post.
Congrats on the offer! Feel free to dm on specific benefits. Yahoo is so large I can’t guarantee WLB, I think it’s a bit team dependent. I’m in product, but in my circles there’s lots of professional interest in what we do and thus high engagement. My teams are pretty empowered to develop what needs to be done as long as we can estimate we will hit KPIs. There’s a culture of GSD, but most no one is staying up late to work and meet deadlines. I work odd hrs because I take care of my kids at home at the same time I’m working, and I’ve been called out for working on docs too late at night to finish out my deliverables. As long as there is alignment up the chain on deliverables it’s been fine.
Hey, I gave a final interview on Monday. How long did it take for them to take the decision. Any help is appreciated.
It took me about a month from my first interview to an offer. Verbal first, then about two weeks to receive the written offer
Great. Thanks for the info.
I start Monday and my manager assured me they have a great WLB on their team. Standard 9-5 easy to move things around as needed.
I am still waiting on decision, can you let me know how long it took for you after your final interview to provide verbal as well as official offer
7.14 final interview 7.18 soft verbal offer 7.22 official signed offer Was supposed to start 8.15 but BG check delayed it (took 3.5 weeks)
Yeah our WLB is pretty good
Culture is good, perhaps not as good as it used to be, but still more than decent. WLB can be hit and miss depending on the team, media partnership tends to be good and fun. Congrats!
Yahoo is still a company?
Hehe. Who knows how long
