My team in adobe is such a bad team to work for. They make you work like anything. Managers will call you even on weekends asking you for some adhoc requests . And in 1:1 they just say we are a performance driven team . And that we are different from other teams in Adobe. Ofcourse they are. This Team has the worst work culture and work life balance in all of Adobe. And the worst part is , Even after working like anything for the past ~2year , all I got from my manager was , I need to meet the bar. So I was literally working like anything . I was constantly in sync with my manager in getting feedbacks. And in the end- They didn’t give any promotions or good hike. The Hike i got was 2% .What is this . Why even bother giving 2% ? I mean, This is just humiliating. My manager is saying- “ Why are you concerned with Money? Don’t be greedy! When I was at an early point of my career , I never cared about money and hikes or titles. they dont mean anything.You’re learning right? thats is enough. “ What kind of manager he is. He makes me work like anything and then expects me not to speak and accept the little peanuts of a hike that he has given me . I would have been more than happy if I got a promotion(title changed) and Zero hike with the reason that due to the macro economic conditions, or whatever. but the reason he clearly gave me was that It is me who is not meeting the bar. I am not taking the name of the team, but adobe folks might have guessed the team by this description. I feel for the awesome people in my team. PS: Not getting a promotion this year, has just broken my self confidence and my heart. PPS: My team is really awesome and they are one of the best people I know. I wish adobe had the culture of taking a peer review because then I would surely have gotten promotion. #Ranting #DontJoinThisTeam. Do dm me to ask the name of the team, so you dont join this team.

If your expectations are not met, look internal. Set the expectation while moving on fast path. There are positions open I guess. All the best for your journey.

What is your TC? What is stopping you to switch companies/teams etc?
What is stopping me to switch companies is the recent recession / potential layoffs that might happen in the market.
If you have 6 months of resources., I recommend trying another Job/team. At least be interview prepared in the meantime, and switch when you feel it's safe. I believe it's a risk you can afford even in current market.
