Would you go to the party?

I have a friend... let’s call him opportunistic... when he needs help he is all over and begging but when he is all set and in good spot he wouldn’t take a second to show off that he is in better spot and won’t even acknowledge that he ever took help..

Long story - this guy was a great friend and coworker and I did a lot for him during my good days and I never really asked for anything... I referred him to all
Positions at apple whenever he asked even though he barely qualified..I invited him for lunches at apple...

Tables turned and he got a job at google and I had personal situation which made me quit my job at apple and when I asked him to refer me at google he literally shut me off by saying I won’t qualify... even though I was clearly qualified... at times won’t answer my text or phone since I wasnt of much help..

Seems he has been put on pip and I heard from him after a while and he was trying to indirectly wanting me to refer him at uber.. I did not entertain anything as I recalled how he treated me during my rough phase..

Last week he invited me to a family party which is a big surprise for me as he would normally invite others over me..

Debating should I go?

Not returning favor is selfish. What is the definition of bad ? Harming others for no reason I guess? This so called friend is just selfish not a terrorist. Helping others is about make yourself feel good and peaceful too.

Don’t go. He owed you help when you were in trouble. Now you don’t owe him anything. Cut him lose. Have some self-respect. (Mard ban yaar, usne teri khudari ko lalkara hai) 😊

Thank you everyone for our feedback... I don’t want t to call him names ..

I only know that everyone is your friend when you are successful and I learnt when I failed few years ago..

That experience made me more humble and kind and Always think practically and never go above and beyond for anyone..
