Brogrammers: people who value life as much as work. Don’t really code outside work. Good social skills. Average software engineering skills. Hobbies outside of work include snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, nights out on the town, Tinder. Autists: people who value work over all. Spend all their time learning and becoming top tier software engineers. Poor or non-existent social skills. Hobbies outside of work include Magic The Gathering and DnD. Who would you rather work with?
A combination of both on the team can go a long way.
^this. The truest form of diversity. Diverse personalities and life experiences.
There are also people who are neither, and I like working with those. Brogrammers would annoy me more, even on a ski lift.
this is an immature view of engineers. I've worked with brilliant engineers who enjoyed having a night on town.
Wat I always thought a brogrammer was sthg else.
Brogrammers, because making fun of them feels fairer.
I think you missed a few attributes of brogrammers. They can also be elitist, exclusionary, and discriminatory.
