Was there last week. It's so much more fun and dynamic than Seattle that being back here is depressing. People were surprisingly friendly, and the diversity was unbelievable. And of course, I saw more beautiful women in 1 week in NYC than 2 years in Seattle.
There are a lot of single beautiful women in NYC too because the female to male ratio is higher. It’s the opposite problem to Seattle.
Yeah the contrast between Seattle and NYC was so stark. It was like being in a different universe. During my week there, I got around 100 quality matches on online dating apps. Had no idea just how bad Seattle is for single guys until now. Wow.
Love how everyone thinks that. But your 300K is chunk change in NYC, and wile women can deal with ugly nerdy rich guys with an attitude, ugly , nerdy, not so rich guys with an attitude of a techie are not popular at all.
Prepare to live in a shack and be poor making $300k in NYC
It’s what I’ve heard from people working on Wall Street. I don’t personally live there.
Same can be said for Sf...
New York is the center of the universe. No way Seattle can compare. But it’s a bit different living there. Especially in pricy manhattan. Definitely a different world.
Cost of living in Seattle is very similar to that of NYC actually. Rent in Newport is similar to Seattle’s, Asian food in NYC is cheaper and better. Living in NYC I don’t need a car which saves parking in apartment, parking at company, and insurance.
No way. NYC is around 50% more expensive than Seattle, mainly due to rent. Also they have state and city tax.
City tax can be avoided by living in Jersey City. I was paying 2000 when living near UW, and paying 2500 in a nice new 1 studio in Jersey City. NJ’s state tax rate is lower than NY’s. Also state tax is deductible—at least for now.
Haha, comparing Seattle to NYC. One's is the greatest city in the world teeming with diversity and opportunity and dreams, and the other is an overpriced rainy dead shit hole taken over by soulless tech bros.
Found the Indian
Kind of close? I'm brown, but I've probably spent a grand total of a month and a half in my parents' home country.
Lol NYC is definitely different from Seattle. It’s 8.5 million people in NYC vs. 800k people in Seattle, different dynamics. Seattle is a cool city with its own vibe, depends on what you like.
This is the same op as the other NYC is better and Amazon sucks bitch posts HBS. Ignore the troll
Honestly very few cities in the world compare to nyc
No comment about these things. But if you like NYC try Chicago next. Have fun
soooo move there? If you can stand the cost of living going through the roof there shouldn't be much stopping you
