I started my job a while ago. Have been doing pretty well with my it, like solving tickets for team and learning a bunch of stuff, However, my company is shit as they require me to be in the office the whole time. The other day I was working at home and my manager texts me that I need to be in the office like wtf. I commute really far from sf to Sunnyvale, Therefore, looking to switch even though I do love the job I have. Looking to have some DoorDash engs/ other folks who can refer me, I have one year working for a start up and just joined this company for 6 months #engineering #doordash
If they told you before signing the offer, you should just decline. If they didn't tell you during the interview, you should've asked. If they changed the policy after you joined - they are terrible to be so strict with a new policy. (But I highly doubt this is the case, given the short timeline)
Worst case they fire you and you file unemployment benefits. At the end of the day no one can force you to do anything. Can you afford to be unemployed for a few months? If so, then why stress about it? Just keep working at home and be firm you will work from home because the man does not scare you
Enjoy living in Man Jose
Start applying for new jobs. Your employer has earned a retention problem.
Why the rant before asking for referral lol. No hate but a sentence or 2 should be more than enough
Because ranting is never enough ๐
Can I dm
Do you want to ask your manager if you can work two three days from home. Maybe if you can your manager will agree. If they donโt agree then leave. Just ask once.
