It makes sense for the contractors, but most don’t technically work at Google, so I’m not really sure what it does. They also say they aren’t looking to collectively bargain, so again, I’m not entirely sure what this does..
Every union theory starts with that facade. That is a smoke screen.

I love this. I'm all for the cancer of leftist policies growing and eating their own. If Google caves and the unions win, the leftists will suffer together. If Google gets rid of them, the union (leftists) still fails and Google opens itself to attack from those on the left because it's thrown its towel in with them.
leftists want to make things better for everyone. this argument makes no sense. that's what the word progressive means. push forward beyond the way things are now. if it wasn't for progressives throughout modern history (and even beyond back in time) we wouldnt be where we are. it wasnt call progressives then, it was just people wanting a better life. why is it so political? are you external and removed from humanity, looking down on the rest of us? maybe you are the 1% that can afford to not share the wealth
You keep using that word but you don't know what it means. You are looking at the term regressive. Humanity has made slow measured progress - that's conservatives/classical liberals. Conservatives believe it is better to maintain status quo than obtain disastrous results. Stupid ideas (like unionizing in tech) need to be abandoned. It is better to batten down the hatches, lower the sails and conserve what we have than regress in this wrong direction. I am part of the 99% that cannot afford to share the wealth. If you want, you are free to cut a check to the government to redistribute. There is no need to drag the rest of us with you. Did you know you can write the government a check? Why haven't you tried it?
