I searched my email address on google that's listed on LinkedIn and it showed up multiple websites with my job experience that's posted on LinkedIn. I posted my Google number on LinkedIn and next I got a call from some random scammer saying I filled a survey(which I didn't) and so they're going to appreciate me by giving a gift, so to confirm they mentioned my email address and somehow then got my office address (not hard to find if company and city location given on LinkedIn), and they asked if wanted change that address to my home address to which I said no. I knew that mf was a scammer, so I also told them they called my at office number and they should change it. I gave them another scammers number and that was my day. Then, I wondered where they found my number as the number listed on LinkedIn is not public and is only on linkedin and no where else. I did share them with recruiters, I'm guessing recruiters also leak information unintentionally. Then I searched my email address and saw multiple sites have clone of my profile, like wtf. Is there a way to delete those scam profiles on scam websites?
The creator did an ad for “deleteme” on the veratasium YouTube channel… no idea how well it works
This is very annoying. I'm glad I gave burner email address and Google phone number, but my profile has been cloned and created somewhere
There is no privacy in this era. Govt is too focused on big tech but the real scraping is done by several mid and small companies.
