Hi everyone, This is my first ever post on blind. Kinda feeling a bit heartbroken so wanted to get this off my chest. I had my Meta final interview a week back and today I got a call from my recruiter that I got rejected by HC (hiring committee). I was told that the feedback from my interviewers was positive. I have been grinding leetcode everyday since 2022 and completed over 1000 questions. So far I have made it to 12+ onsite rounds, including Google, Microsoft, TikTok, Amazon etc, my last interview being at Meta, but none resulted in a job offer. At this point I have lost all motivation to grind anymore and I feel like I am destined to be stuck at my current company. To make things worse I have recently hit my cliff and my career has not been great at my current company. I can't bear the pain to wait another whole year to reinterview at Meta again knowing I might not make it this far the next time I interview, but I understand that's my only option and all I can do is grind more leetcode. I am not sure how some of you all bag multiple offers while I can't even get one, even after 2 years of trying. Is there something that I am missing? Could someone point me to the right direction? I am not sure why I am posting this but I might delete this post later. I guess if anyone could suggest me anything to improve my current situation I would be grateful. EDIT: Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement and advice. Feeling a lot better now. I will go back to the grind. I will follow the advice some of you have given me. I will let you all know if something changes. Yoe 4 TC 200k #engineering #software
HC is going to change their mind next year if you clear interviews? Try other companies mate
You're doing something wrong.. it's unusual to do that many leecode and have that many interviews and still not get an offer. Can you talk to a senior engineer you trust to give to you some feedback on your code? Hopefully some one on blind can guide you
I might try asking.
Or they can just be unlucky with this round of interviews
Seems like a bloodbath right now, you likely would be working for Meta if you had interviewed a year or two ago. Just keep the edge sharp and keep interviewing, when the market swings back you will be rewarded.
I see so many people getting offers from Meta. I am not sure if it's going to get any better than this but I will keep grinding
"Iam destined to be stuck at my current company" - Trust me I was in that place for years not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4... But when time was right, the opportunity came by itself and stood in front of me and all I had to do was to take it. Have patience, you will be guided to what you actually need and it need not be the same as what you feel as a want.
Thanks VMware. I hope your words come true.
It will, my friend. Life will find its way for you. All you can do is to prepare for it when it is shown. Untill then, don't lose your inner strength.
What was the actual feedback from these companies? If you ask the recruiter, many of them will be transparent with you ( but not all of them). Have in mind that interviews are not only about coding, they are about experience, how you feel around people and coding. Maybe you failed in your architecture pieces? Maybe you failed in behavioral?
Meta didn't share any feedback sadly but all I can think of is possibly the system design round or behavior round, but judging from the interviewer's reaction I felt they were satisfied. The rest of the other on-sites were from 2022 and it was possibly due to my coding rounds not going well.
ok … my experience was similar to yours until i finally got an offer. i failed many interviews for roughly 2 years as well. My only advise is take a small break and keep trying again
Did you change any strategies after your break?
i got better with each ones but i did not really change much. sometimes its just timing that you cant change
OP, try a mock behavioral with someone who interviews alot of ppl on behavioral. I personally think an Amzn employee like a bar raiser should be good at this and see what they think. If you pass the behavioral mock, then its not your behavioral h that’s keeping you on the other side of the fence.
Do you know you got rejected because of the coding round?
Don't think so, the interviewers were happy with the solutions I provided
Same thing happened to me. You just try again. I didn’t get optimal on the onsite so I got rejected. We still make good money fs.
