I got one interview question what's the trade off to use nextjs vs normal backend like Django, dropwizard for Yelp like website I said nextjs would probably scale better than naive Django without cache due to a lot of static content and low throughput data like comment, not sure what else to say Did I screw up? 270
What if nextjs is deprecated?
What if Django is deprecated
You are comparing Apple to Oranges. Chances of NextJS losing support due to Opensource contributors/owners moving to another cutting edge JS library is much higher than an established Django / Springboot losing support.
There’s a backend to nextjs, it’s just not nearly as fully featured as something like Django. Nexts big thing is server rendering and SSG. I think your answer was fine. Maybe would have gone into more examples of what the cache would look like.
Is there any downside to using nextjs, the interviewer was drilling that the only thing I said is lack of typing unless we use typescript
There’s (hopefully) no one word right or wrong answer to this question, it’s about *how* you answer it and how you’re able to compare them
Dude there's no backend in NextJS, it's just a web framework without server
I thought Nextjs is like express, it serve web page that is pre generated using ISR?
No it's not like express, express is a web server framework
