Posting this on behalf of a Friend I have an offer from Yelp London IC2 role. Compensation - £75K + £8K + £9K + 5% annual bonus + 75K USD stocks (4 years) YOE: 2.7 years Blind Tax: Current Compensation: 33K + 20K ESOPS(4 years) SDE2 at an Indian startup(Poor WLB) I am looking for * Tech learning - looking for a full stack role to gain more breadth as well growing my network. I have been working in backend for 2.7yrs + some frontend experience. - self projects. * Career growth - I understand IC2 is a junior role, so would be working towards the next role, how hard/easy it is at Yelp * US relocation - Does Yelp allow engineers to relocate to US after ~2 years? * WLB - I understand Yelp will offer a good work life balance + plus an experience of living in London Also, concerned about company vision, since the stock has been stagnant for a long time. #yelp #engineering #software #swe
I’m at Yelp London now as IC3 how tf did you get a 75k base offer. I need to renegotiate my terms. Also career movement is there I got a offer from meta 5 days ago but it was shit. Yelp pays better than meta in London which is shocking.
What was the meta offer and level?
IC4 but offered me £75k base + 50k in RSU I told them to fuck off with that trash offer. I earn a lot more at Yelp
I was working at a non-tech company and did the same change with same YOE. Lets start with the downsides: US relocation: Technically possible after a year (L1 Visa) but will be hard unless you're exceptional/irreplaceable since it's going against the agenda of actively trying to hire in Canada and UK. A shame since my ambition was to move to US as well. Stock: Not a high growth stock historically so would just see it as cash Now to the fun bits I'm so happy about my choice as it's taken me to the next level on a lot of different aspects. * Tech Learning - I actually understand large scale distributed systems from practical experience. * Career Growth - I been contacted by Snap, Amazon, Apple, Facebook and many more since I joined yelp. * Great WLB - More sustainable lifestyle. I have to time to focus on health, family, friends. * Financial situation - Base, Stocks, Refreshers, Bonus, Benefits to my finances to a new level etc. Note that this is year 3/4 of my career. I'm currently aiming to switch to Google, Facebook, Apple or Twitter and I've never been this close. All the best mate
Hi, what's the lowest YOE you've seen someone join Yelp with? I saw they didn't have a new grad role open for UK so was wondering when the earliest time would be I could apply for roles
Hey can you please refer me to Yelp? I can dm you my info!
