Are there any particular things related to work culture that I should look at as a new grad software engineer, choosing between these two ? The roles are for similar positions both of which suit my interests.
If those are your best options go for twitter. Yelp seems pretty lame in comparison and isn’t sexy for your resume either.
Go for the one with better snacks
Couldn't find Twitter snack reviews on Yelp 🤣
Is this for engineering?
Yes, I'll update the original post too.
I have a friend at Yelp and he said they don't have levels/titles, everyone is just software engineer. He thinks it's a method to suppress promotions and wages.
Yelp likes to keep purse strings tight.
And once you get the Twitter stamp of validation on your resume you’ll be able to jump ship easier than yelp.
Yes SF location for both. Not ML, systems position for both. Wouldn't like to disclose teams at this point though.
Are you good? What role? We’re hiring. Also, we’re in the Twitter building already.
Why the fuck those two. Interview everywhere dude
How is databricks?
Salesforce is better Marc
Twitter has free food
Free food doesn’t really matter if you have a bad boss
Yep true. Anything particular that you might want to point out that I should look out for at both places ?
PM me. Ideally wouldn’t want to put anything here for possibility of losing anonymity.

Definitely twitter! They won't become the next Facebook, that's clear, but still have solved some very tough eng problems and you will get to work at bigger scale with better engineers.
Yep I agree, that's what I felt during team discussions too :)
