Referrals

I'm looking for referrals for remote positions in typical United States time zones. Due to some family health obligations I'm tethered to my current city—so I CANNOT relocate. I'm a software engineer predominantly looking for backend positions, though I'm also alright with full-stack positions. My preference is to be on a fully remote team, but I'm open to all remote roles. If you're interested, here are some details about my background and preparation: - 1st time prepping for coding and system design interviews. - ~5 months of preparation - ~300 LeetCode problems (Easy: 115, Medium: 176, Hard: 27) (see screenshot at the bottom of this post) - NeetCode 150 (excluding bit manipulation and some dynamic programming) https://neetcode.io/ - Blind 75 (excluding bit manipulation) https://neetcode.io/ - 10+ coding interview mocks - Read volume 1 & 2 of Alex Xu's System Design Interview (also acted as a mock interviewer for most chapters, so I could retain the content better) - Read Designing Data-Intensive Applications by Martin Kleppmann (via a book club, also for better retention) - Skimmed through Grokking the System Design Interview and Grokking the Advanced System Design Interview from Educative.io - Random YouTube videos - 15 system design interview mocks - Total compensation: 85k base salary, ~7% bonus - Years of experience: 3 years of industry experience + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science - Location: LCOL city in the US (considered to be a top 10 LCOL city in the US by some lists) Looking to escape 🥜s. Any advice/help is appreciated—thanks everybody! #linkedin #square #figma #atlassian #reddit #airtable #sourcegraph #chime #zapier #discord #google #microsoft #salesforce #slack #github #twitch #audible #lyft #twitter #spotify #hashicorp #gusto #toast #upstart #lattice #braze #redfin #elastic #datadog #dropbox #confluent #indeed #addepar #affirm #hubspot #epicgames #plaid #mux #bolt #Ramp #yugabytedb #grammarly #okta #iterable #vmware #twilio #cloudflare #yelp #noom #flocksafety #workiva #postscript #quora #sonos Feel free to call out organizations that may no longer have remote roles from the above ^. Also, if there's anything I can do to make this post more effective, let me know. I'll start responding tomorrow. I've learned so much from this platform. Thanks, I appreciate you all!

The book club is something I organized with some co-workers during work hours. We're on Part 3 of the book, so I'm not sure it'd be very beneficial to join at this point, but if you're still interested I can see if we can make it work. Thanks for the Microsoft referral offer! I may reach out within the next couple of days.

Unfortunately, most remote roles will base your salary on cost of living of your area. I’m honestly not sure what you’d be able to expect for salary. I’d be happy to refer you to Meta, but you’d likely be an E4 and hiring is frozen

Yeah, I'm having a tough time gleaning what I should be expecting for my COL—it's hard to get accurate/comprehensive info about it on Blind and levels, since most people on these platforms seem to only have HCOL experiences. If anybody has insight on compensation expectations for LCOL with 3 YoE, I'd love to hear about it! Thanks for the Meta referral offer! Unfortunately, like you mentioned, it's probably not the best fit for me right now with the freeze.

You know Neetcode 150 and Blind 75 are the same thing right? Neetcode 150 just contain 75 more beginner friendly problems

Yep, I was just trying to be thorough with what people are familiar with. Still appreciate the clarification though—maybe I could phrase it better.

Is this a troll post? I can’t tell. If not trolling… Just talk to some recruiters. You are totally ready to crush interviews. Here’s some more solid advise. On LinkedIn, change your location to the nearest big city. Doesn’t matter if it is 5hours drive away. Don’t lie to companies about where you live. If anyone asks, tell them it is just to game the LinkedIn algorithms. No one will care. There are tons of companies out there doing fully remote. Tons!!! Maybe target a tech stack you like just to have something to search for. Suggestion a for remote company, try to pick something where the HQ is in your time zone. Lastly, you can DM me for a referral for Motive (formerly KeepTruckin)

Nope, not a troll :). If you're asking because of the amount of prep I've done + asking for referrals: since this is my first time going through these types of interviews—I want to have the best chance I can to actually get the interviews, since I come from a mostly no name school/company. Appreciate the advice! I've never heard that LinkedIn advice before, makes sense—updated my profile already. Thanks the referral offer for Motive, I may reach out within the next couple of days.

Hey @kt->motive—I found a few roles I'm interested in. Unfortunately, I'm out of DMs, so if you're still interested in potentially referring me, feel free to DM me, thanks!

Hey @referralll, are you able to share the name of the company here? I'm looking to conserve my number of DMs. If not, no worries—that's completely understandable. I do have a lot of interest in FinTech, so I may still reach out shortly.
