Hi everyone! First time posting here and just wanted to hear your thoughts on the following offers. I have two offers at the table one from a YouTube team and another one from a LinkedIn team as a SDE. Currently at Amazon - TC: 200K - YOE: 2 - Level: SDE I - Location: Sunnyvale YouTube offer - Base: 152K - Bonus: 15% - 25K - Stock: 193K (4 years) (Front loaded) - Sign on: 30K - TC: 268K - Level: L3 - Location: Mountain View LinkedIn offer - Base: 159K - Bonus: 10% - 15K - Stock: 200K (4 years) (25% each year) - Sign on: 45K - TC: 269K - Level: Software Engineer - Location: Sunnyvale Note: I currently live in SF so anything closer is a bonus (Google gave me the option to work from San Bruno) or whichever company makes it easier for a full remote. #software #google #engineering #amazon #microsoft #youtube
What the break down of google offer? Sign on should ne separate and not part of TC.
Just did. Let me know what do you think
Can you breakdown the LinkedIn offer? It seems high. Are you including your sign on bonus?
Yes, the sign on bonus is included. I'll break it further
Provide TC breakup
YouTube
Linkedin has office in SF and probably more flexible wrt remote comparing to Youtube
When speaking with the teams, Google gave more options to working out of the main office, as per LinkedIn which pushed more towards going back to at least a hybrid setup. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with the teams?
Yes, varies by team or manager
Wow Google gives 250k+ for L3? Recently got downlevelled from L4, have an offer for 280k+signon, you think they could beat it OP?
I had to use both offers as leverage for them to increase their offer, meaning that they pretty much did all the betting for me. Is your 280K offer for an L3 (down-levelled from L4?)
It is also worth noting that Google said that it would've been hard to counteroffer LinkedIn's. They even requested an actual proof of LinkedIn's offer.
It's not even close. Obviously youtube since Linkedin refreshers suck.
Hey I'm curious on why not being close. Is it because of how LinkedIn tries to get a higher number by the sign on?
1) Calibre of Engineers you will work with 2) Wide variety of teams/options available at Google 3) Refreshers 4) Ofcourse, Brand (since initial offer is not a factor)
YouTube for sure, LI is not that great once you are on the inside. You will learn more at YT,
Should have interviewed for LinkedIn sr swe (SDE 2 at Amazon)

Make it a poll but to me both are equal may be inclined towards youtube, you will learn more cause of its scale, you could probably get that at LinkedIn as well if you in the right team. Google has better refreshers as well.
Thank you for the ideas!! Just added the poll with several options!
