The most underrated reason is getting a month or two off. It's easier to find a new job with a fat sign-on than it is to get two months off unpaid at a FANG
Better work that would lead to career progression.
My previous company wouldn’t let me leet at work. No leeting is a dealbreaker. Now I’m at Microsoft where I can leet whenever I want as much as I want and I couldn’t be happier.

RoR startups when they need to scale are particularly hilarious. You hire java developers and then there’s a turf war between legacy and next gen systems, and many scrapped and redesigned “2.0”s. Seen it over and over.

Bad boss makes everything else not matter. Good boss makes everything else doable, even higher TC.

At G I lacked interesting projects (good luck switching teams and joining a cool one!). FB pays slightly better, provides more freedom and impact.
Why, is it hard to switch teams there?
