Hello Blinders, Please help me in taking a decision, it would be great if you can also share your opinion in comments below. Both the roles offered are based in Ireland VerizonMedia: base 67k, RSU 40k ( next 3 years), annual bonus 15%, joining bonus 6k Zendesk: base 70k, RSU 50k (next 4 years), annual bonus 5% Experience : 4.10 years (Zendesk can allow fully remote) Not only TC I would also consider learning and growth opportunities. **People working in US if you don't have any clue on salaries paid in EU, still you can share your opinion on work environment, quality of work and other factors. #techcareer #tech #zendesk #yahoo #verizonmedia #dublin #softwareengineer
Not Verizon media, the deal of selling it to Apollo from Verizon is about to close in around three months. You will lose pretty much all your rsus, and there will be huge layoff later. Also Apollo isn’t as generous as Verizon, so probably will have less overall tc later.
Wouldn’t RSUs be replaced by other type of LTI like cash LTI or something ? Also what is the retention/severance offer from VZM for existing employees?
Nope, you only get prorated 2021 rsu and forfeit the rest. For current employees, we will get prorated 2019 2020 2021 rsu at closing, and rest of the 2019 and 2020(2021 and after not included) as a retention bonus six months after the deal close. Your team and prduct might be cut at closing from laid off. Severance has a minimum requirement of one year of service.
Hmmm - that’s weird as I had a conversation with HR and HM both and they told me differently on LTIs. I am assuming it might be different for new hires who have not joined yet? I’ll reconfirm just to be sure.
