Recently got laid off from convoy. On H1B so job security is priority. Got offers from Zillow and Walmart for SDE. Zillow is 100% remote. Walmart wants to move to Sunnyvale. I am currently in Seattle. Walmart new team. Pilot feature. Got info that they are heavily invested so no funding issue. Zillow work is also interesting but not sure about future because of housing market going down. Compensation is pretty equal. TC - 0 YOE - 3 #tech #zillow #walmart #offer
I would strongly vote for Walmart in the scenario u have given.
Why? What are your thoughts?
I wouldn’t. Walmart info sec upper management is ass. Good luck OP
Walmart for job security
Walmart for job security given H1B. Zillow with a continuing real estate contraction there maybe more BU shedding into next year.

Walmart. For reasons stated above by Zoom.
Zillow for full remote. Whats the tc
Can you give TC? Hello? This is blind
Job security is a wash. Sure housing will contract with a recession but so will retail spending. Look at Amazon if you think Walmart is layoff proof. Worse yet, if you're working on a brand new product it is a prime target for getting axed if the economy gets worse. Choose whichever team you like better, and obviously remote is a plus especially if you don't already live in California.
It’s safer to work in a core team than to work in a new product with less traction and funding.. size of the company does play some factor too.. but given the two choices I would have gone for Walmart mainly because they don’t over-hire, and have enough funds to invest in a new initiative. Zillion is a firing squad in these uncertain times.
The pay isn't equal If Walmart is making you move to commiefornia That said if youre okay with taking the fat L then go to Walmart
Brotha this is h1b
Okay and? That doesn't mean the offers are equal. If op is alright with getting bent over in Cali then go for it
