Dear zoox friends I have an upcoming TPm interview at zoox. I tried to search for the interview process and expectations, but was unsuccessful. Now seeking help.from Blind community. How is the interview process and what should I prepare? How is the culture and WLB? What TC can I expect? Thanks TC 140k Yoe 10. #interview #zoox
What’s with acronyms. Like typing the full job title gives ya’ll arthritis.
Dude or Dudette, they are in the middle of either an acquisition or they are burning down into the ground. Now is NOT the time to make the move. Obviously interview, but try to push off the acceptance until after, whatever the shit is, goes down.
My interview for vehicle engineering: 3 phone interviews, onsite with a 20 minute presentation and 5 one-on-one interviews. TC and WLB vary by team, generally not too bad. If you are coming from Detroit and making 140k, you might end up making less here after housing and taxes
Would amazon merger make any difference?
You know as much as I do on that front - could be an awesome payout and we keep charging ahead or we get nothing and fired! Or we get normal funding and nothing changes... TBD Generally speaking I think a lot people at zoox were happy before the layoffs, covid, and shelter in place.
Why on earth would you want to do this?
Culture is good, but there's a lot to learn off the bat, especially for a TPM. Hopefully some carry over from Ford. Overall everyone is passionate about moving the project along and it's a great learning and leadership experience. Overall WLB is fine, not as good as Big 4 but pretty reasonable, many people 9-5 no problems and people take vacation regularly. Not sure how TPM TC is. Overall SWEs are paid a bit less than average. See what numbers you get, they can usually match at least.
Thanks.
(Pre-COVID) process for me (TPM for Software) was: 1 call with recruiter, 1 call with TPM Manager, then on-site: 2 interviews with SWEs, 2-3 interviews with TPM/TPM managers, 1 director-level interview, SVP of Eng interview. WLB is fine; some weeks are busier than others. We’re a startup so sometimes off-hours work is required to unblock others but that’s not expected or the norm. Is this for a senior TPM role? TC will depend on that.
Hi. Thanks for the info. I already had my recruiter round and she told that she will schedule phone interviews next week. Nit sure what level of role it is, but she said that she has multiple openings and the role team will be decided after interview. However, since i have 10 yoe, i would expect sr tpm.
I would weigh in on the time ,since alot of things have been happening in Parellel I would let things settle first and than would consider before switching.Just my thoughts

Would leaving my job be a bad idea for $100k+ TC?
Adding what team and title you're interviewing for could be helpful.... TPMs in vehicle, firmware or software can expect very different interviews
Tpm - software.
