https://www.reuters.com/technology/hackers-advertise-sale-23andme-data-leaked-data-forum-2023-10-06/ This could be considered a significant breach of privacy. It wouldn’t be surprising if class action lawsuits emerge soon They had a layoffs recently, I wonder if it is related to this.
They weren’t hacked. It’s just the people that have had their passwords leaked from other sites and didn’t change them in time. Don’t use the same password for multiple websites!
Did 1 million customers really have their passwords exposed? That seems hard to believe. It’s more plausible that a senior executive’s account was compromised, leading to the data breach.
I’m basing this on the statement made by 23andMe. Simpler to assume that they’re not lying?
It’s being called ‘hacking’ because US govt wanted all gene data.
good morning, stale news. Impact on customers? Bigger impact if Blind gets breached
Genetic data and information versus company gossip? Yeah definitely company gossip is definitelyyyy more concerning
Soon everybody will be receiving identity protection monitoring😂
