No remote, both flexi in SF
Of course, Guardant Health. I wouldn't compare the two. Does Roche (Sequencing I am assuming) even have a product in the pipeline? Roche Molecular is another big joke. Just look at their leadership.
GH experience wasn't so good. People complaining about 80 hour work weeks in an interview is not a good look. Roche folks seemed nicer and they have a product in the pipeline for next year or so but from the sound of it , very slow moving
I think I know what you mean about Guardant Health. They are churning and building products quickly. But they've also accrued a lot of ignorant and arrogant people these past couple of years, because of their success. Happens. I left Roche because it was a truly dumb place. The politics were so foul, and their leaders were/are bonafide clowns. Just look at their current attrition. Pick your poison. You can always leave if the place doesn't suit you.
Go for Roche if you want stability and better wlb.
Ok, but seemsike a slow moving place..would it be career suicide
Totally depends on the group: if you are going in sequencing in roche then don’t, if you are going in screening group in guardant then yes. Hope that helps
WLB and People are great at Roche, Depends on which team you join
Director of what at guardant?
Director of Product
I know of an open IPM position open in my current group, so I may know the opening. Depends what you want out of a career of course, but IPM positions have a lot of decision making power if you want to make a big impact on products.
How's the pace in terms of career growth? I see most folks have barely been in the role of been there in the same role too long
Again, depends what you want out of a career. Definitely career growth possible if you have have the skillset. An IPM is correlative to a PL at other companies.
In the long run, it doesn't matter. You could flip a coin and get the same outcome.
Director of product? I'm guessing that is a nontechnical role? Which offer did you take?
Which city ? Remote possible?
