am i on devlist - Amazon

my manager usually excludes me from conversations. he is pretty picky about his feedback on tasks that i am doing. his feedback is mostly verbal. but he doesnt talk with me the same way as he speak with others in the team. during my 1:1 when i ask him about feedback and how i am doing he mentions that i am doing fine and he doesnt have anything negetive to say about me. i am around 9 months old in amazon. do you think im on devlist? Nothing is ‘overreaction’. I hate that term . When you sense things - it usually means something. What do you imply when you say he doesn’t speak with you the same way as he does with others ? Could you give more insight into that ?

He jokes with other folks in the team. Pretty serious with me. But maybe because they’ve been here way longer than me. But he is very friendly with me during 1:1. And he says he has nothing negative to say about me. I’ve asked him several times.

Do u feel ur performing well on the sprints? Any major wins or do u feel like u barely getting stuff done

Amazon amaz OP Nov 11, 2019

I think so. Otherwise my manager would say it during my 1:1.

Then may be he didn’t connect with u and that’s ok

Idk the guy, but presumably he'd tell you if you are fucking up when you specifically ask.

Outside your manager, what do your colleagues in the same sprint say about your work? People are very straightforward here at Amazon so I doubt you are in any trouble or going on PIP. If so they would say so directly.

They haven’t said anything or given any feedback. Colleagues who’ve been here for a while have given inputs on design or guided me when I ask them questions but no one has given feedback.

One leet per day, takes all of your problems away

The day someone's put on a devlist they receive a follow-up email from manager after 1-1 with a list of goals/things to do. If you didn't receive such email, you are not on a dev list. Alternatively, you can always ask your manager or HRBP. They are not supposed to communicate it with you voluntarily but if you ask them explicitly they'll have to tell you.
