any difference about work environment with google and apple
Hi I’m an ex-googler and am having an interview for Apple search ads team not in the US these days. I have some friends at fb, amazon and twitter so I know the difference between google and others, but no one at apple unfortunately. is there any big difference about work environment between google and apple? please tell me if you know anything about it. thanks!
Isn't apple super secretive about everything and you only know what's going on in your little org?

The secrecy is only for hardware stuff. There’s no secrecy in software/services at Apple.

Apple is not an ads company- and iAd is barely on life support.
But we sure do love to point down at Google and say, “ads company! evil evil ads company!”, and then put our noses back up in the air.
At Apple (and perhaps at any big company) it’s totally team dependent and your experience can vary widely. As a rule of thumb, newer teams (say working on machine learning, AI, computer vision) are better in some way as there is less baggage from the past. But even those teams can be led by old timers at Apple with no domain expertise in those areas and that can be a frustrating experience.
Wlb is good at both. Perks are much better at google; Apple doesn’t have free food and stuff.

Lol I have been elsewhere before
A lot of Apple folks are leaving and joining google - so there must be a good reason I have heard Google is not crazy about schedules as Apple. Apple has to meet the new iPhone refresh timelines
They’re probably leaving for comp.
And because we suck at software.
