I understand they could be quants but a lot of these people just have a bachelor's which makes me think they're SWEs at trading firms. This can't be real can it?
I’m not in an hft but my guess is you’re looking at some very high performers getting huge bonuses. A huge chunk of hft comp is bonus, so I could see someone super successful with a big impact pulling a big bonus. It’s also highly variable comp.
It has to be quants. I don’t believe SWEs at these firms are getting these comps, maybe like 400-600k but not 1m at 2 YOE
