Anyone at Snap willing to share how Snap hiring committee works? Is it just the interviewers having a debrief or is it a separate group that meets on a set schedule and reviews feedback? How is leveling decided? Finished onsites today and wondering how the process is and how long it takes.
interviewers debrief 1-7 days after onsite. idk if there's another stage of review after that I've never witnessed down leveling; candidates are just rejected if they don't meet the bar for the loop
I've seen down leveling a few times for 5 to 4 but they don't down level 4 to 3 ever
Review of debrief feedback and decision. Level is decided at debrief but committee may change level or reject outright. Not sure how often that happens though.
It mostly happens for marginal cases where the interview loop decides to downlevel. "The candidate has 4 years of experience but you didn't think they were an L4 and downleveled to L3. Sounds like a no hire"
Why would you join snap from Google lol. Everyone on my team is trying to leave
Out of curiosity, @bkvr57, what do you think Evan should do to fix things? Seems like a bit of a hopeless situation regardless of who’s in charge?
Things start to go really south after they hired Eric Young from Google.
Ok but what will fix it? I hear everybody saying Evan is the problem but what would you do differently? It just seems like you can’t compete .
Interviewers do the debriefing. It’s first about deciding if the person has the level. It depends on the target level for the position which aspects are looked at. There’s one decider making sure a decision is reached.
Leveling is already factored in when the interview loop is created for candidates . After that if you don’t meet the bar but still are a good candidate , you might be down leveled unless the loop/recruiter thinks that the level is not good enough to hire you or perhaps not worth it given experience, competing offer and market . Rarely ever I have seen up leveling and typically requires 1-2 extra rounds with appropriate senior deciders to make a call . Another reason up leveling doesn’t happen as much is because the loops when created are already relaxing the bar than we have internally for promos

Any Indians Think Kashmir Should be Independent?
It's more of a dart thrown at a board on the wall with sticky notes with names written on them than a committee per se.
No wonder the app is failing.
Lol yes Akita!! More labs ppl should tell it how it is
