bouncing back after being fired.

if you were fired for any reason (behavioral, performance etc. ), how hard or easy was it for you to bounce back and get a new job? were you able to use your old company as a reference?

Got a referral from a friend and did well in interview. They did not check my references.

No one freaking checks references

Did you even give it to them in the first place? Or they didn’t ask at all?

You fight like a champ and get offers

Take the severance and find another one - no one cares in this economy

I’m going to assume any reputable company would though since they have to weed out so many applicants.

Not at all. Anyone worth their salt has faced at least one layoff in a career more than 15 years. And companies don’t disclose that you were fired - they will pay severance and have you sign an agreement that will usually say that they will confirm only your title and dates worked

Can’t relate, never been fired.
