bringing kids into this world
so im 38 y/o male with no kids. I was open to the idea of kids then i see the pending doom of the future. USA is complete trash at the moment, we have a global pandemic, global warming, fires, instagram, republicans. Honestly seeing this shit play out just makes me less and less want to bring kids into this place and just slide into my casket in a cloud of smoke and enjoy the end of the world party by myself or with a partner. what do you think?

Judgement is required to be a good parent as it turns out.
Be it a pandemic or no pandemic, why many parents look at kids as an option of their device of happiness? And then burden the kid to see your dreams come true? Bring kids in your life only if you can give them a freedom to live.
Happiness is a side effect. I literally do not know anyone who would want to have kids to “fix” their unhappy life.

The media have a sick tendency to over dramatise and make it feel like there is impending doom. It’s not like that. Walk outside you house for 5 minutes, I bet it feels safe. It’s going to be fine. Kids are great but they are a lot of effort to take care. Personally it’s absolutely worth it. Make the decision based on your micro situation, don’t worry about the macro one.
I think the decision to have kid is the same as to have a partner: if you find yourself making a list of pro vs con, you should just walk away. Don't fool yourself with excuses, and don't seek others to agree.

38, you are done. You do not want to be 55 when they graduate high school
Not quite done but done to be considering it. You would have to be really motivated at this point
I don't see a reason to have kids except to kill my own boredom and void in life. But that would be so unfair. However, I do see a reason to work for the kids already out there seeking help.
OP if you’re 38 without kids you didn’t want kids to begin with.
