Hi! My H1B got picked this time, and the status will change in october. Traveling to Puerto rico in october will not be a problem will it? It will not change my i-94 and i dont need to get the stamp?
It won’t. Puerto Rico is part of the USA.
It says it’s an “unincorporated territory” of the US. So I wasn’t sure.
YES YOU CAN. There is no risk whatsoever in it. You do not need to carry your passport (My wife and I weren’t, my wife’s visa had expired quite some time back). IT IS A PART OF USA. There is no border control, nothing associated with it if you are flying domestic. Extremely stupid and uninformed suggestions above.
Puerto Rico is the US. No problem. End of story.
Yes u can go. I did the same. You won't even need ur passport. Only driving license should be good.
First of all, you should be asking this question to your company's lawyer. But anyway, the answer is that for immigration purposes, Puerto Rico is part of the US. However, my lawyer did warn me that if some emergency forces a flight between the continental US and Puerto Rico to be diverted to some foreign port (say, in the Dominican Republic) then you are considered to have departed from the United States.
Yes , you don’t need your passport to travel to PR.. I have done it
Have you considered asking your immigration lawyer? Something tells me that Blind may not, by just a bit, small teeny weeny bit ... Be a good place to legal advice especially if it can impact you adversely
Why risk it?
