Recruiter from Twitter reached out for an embedded position. Can anyone share TC range for a Staff/Senior Embedded position? Need to decide if it’s worth the effort. YoE : 12 TC: 310k #embedded #Twitter

Sure you don’t want to be with NVIDIA or Apple. That range can be covered by both and you will work with the best.
Endorse this completely. Come to Apple if not then NVIDIA 😀 don’t goto random embedded wannabes unless they are crushing your bank with money. It’s a frustrating experience.

I checked their jobs site and its the usual CRUD/cloud bullshit. none of the stuff you talk about i know snap were doing embedded for their embarrassingly bad glasses product, is that what u meant?
I suspect the TC will be based on level regardless of the org. However as others have echoed career growth in such areas at companies that do not excel in low level infrastructure is always suspect. Has to do with visibility promotions appreciation of the work etc.
As Sr engineer your ranges for Bay Area are 185k - 250k (base),20% annual bonus (half of bonus depends on company’s performance and half depends on yours performance). Equity can go up to 600k. As Staff, 210k - 285k (base), 25% annual bonus, equity up to 850k. Do some math to get TC numbers based on the info above. Good luck with interviewing and negotiating. Twitter is a good place overall.

That’s my 2nd year at Twitter, so I am waiting for the refreshers. I have no idea how much will I get. People in Twitter say that refreshers aren’t large, it might be 85k-160k (depending on level) vested every quarter over four years. Many people expect a 4-year cliff.
