decison , decision !
i have two offers 1st in bay area. work is eda tool development, 165 base 15 % bonus and 60/3 stock, 20 joining 2nd in boston in a self driving startup. 195 base 15% bonus 250/4 stock, 25 joining i would be much more excited about the work in job2, and will likely have a much better exit option ( correct me if i am wrong). also think in terms of equity going up it has much more upside. However(!), wife has an offer in California and may not find something in Boston soon ( she is not in tech). we have done long distance before and it sucked; almost broke our relationship. I dont know that I can do another long distance stint and keep my marriage, but this also looks like an opportunity to break out of harware .... help me out here folks, in a big jam
Take Boston and find a 2nd wife. One for each coast.

Go with your relationship. There are plenty more jobs in the bay and you can switch easily if job1 doesn’t work.
If job1 is cadence or synopsis stay the fuck away from that. Get as far as possible from EDA

Is it possible for her to decline the job and job search in Boston when you move there? The difference in compensation is a decent non-tech job. How much is her TC for her offer?
Her TC offer is around 200 and a very stable job... difficult to get a similar offer again. Looks like it’s going to be a choice between her career or mine :)
Oh man that’s good for non tech. Hmm then I don’t know. Very possible if you go to Boston you’re household income could drop. I might go to Bay Area because there’s so many tech jobs out here. Might be easier for you to transition than her. Plus a startup isn’t the most stable thing ever.
