https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2023-are-you-rich-best-cities-to-live-salary/ "Billionaires know they are. Low-wage workers are very well aware that they aren’t. But vast swaths of America’s “regular rich” don’t feel that way, and it’s keeping everybody down."
Good visuals and calculator
“Rich” should be defined based on NW. Defining it based on TC is like deciding who won the race based on who is currently driving the fastest.
Great analogy
I think the assumption is that TC and NW are loosely in correlation, depending on discipline and some luck vs time.
81% Since when is 81% a big deal? Congratulations you are just barely a B student, borderline C student.
Don’t worry, a borderline C student probably wouldn’t understand percentiles either!
We can grade on a curve if you want. Give Cs to everyone within 34% of the mean, give Bs to everyone within 47.5% who isn't within or below the C range, give As to everyone above the B range. Sorry you thought you were special. No matter how you look at it, being top 20% is mediocre. Wanna look through the lens of the Pareto principle? 80% of the results come from 20% of the whatever the fuck. So being just better than 81% makes you just barely a part of whatever the fuck. Congrats I guess if you're proud of that.
It’s not very accurate
Mike bloomberg net worth is 96.3 billion. Pretty sure that's rich.
That UI is broken, I’ve tried comparing my income to hundreds of millions income and it gave the same result
Maybe the income bracket is realllllllllly wide
Its broken. 9 digit income puts me at 89.6%.
So does 200k
Rich in fat, counts?
Yes, but only in third-world countries.
Aren't we all from 3rd world countries
Suggesting people don’t feel rich when they make a lot of money is neglecting a major element. Many millennials still cannot afford a home! Rather than building wealth by owning a home and paying off a mortgage, they’re paying rent getting no where.

Trying some random data points and this doesn’t seem that reliable. If I put my income at 100k and location as LA it says median housing is 23% of my income and higher than 58% of other households. I’m somewhat skeptical of the medium housing price and for the household income I don’t think it’s considering how many people are sharing living space in these expensive areas.
I think when it says median housing, it means cost to rent or own. So 23k would be just short of 2k per month which sounds reasonable.
Don't forget that "LA" also includes Compton, etc.
