eBay immigration speed from Perm -> i-140 -> Green card
My priority date is current currently. I know eBay uses EIG. And they sound optimistic about EIGs work. Let's say ebay starts my process tomorrow. How fast are the lawyers and eBay HR going to move for me ? Can I get my i-140 in a matter of 6 months ? If not, how long will perm and i-140 take together ? After i-140, how soon can I get my green card in hand ? Again, I am aware that the time also depends on USCIS's speed as well. But let's take that factor out in my processing time
Did you talk to your manager ? The processing time is minimum 1 year for any law firm including ucsis . You can negotiate with the next employer but most employers will never give it in writing

The green card process from beginning to end is about 21 months. Given that everything is approved on first try. Just the PERM takes a year.
The PERM will take a year or so, after filing the PERM to the department of labor you can expect 3 to 6 months to hear back from them. Once the PERM approved you can ask for premium processing for the i-140 (it’s $1600) which will allow you to get it in like a week or 2 Once that is done, i.e i-140 approved, considering you did a concurrent filing of your i-140 and i-485 you’d have to wait a 180 after the receipt date of your i-485 by USCIS (receipt date, NOT filing date) to be able to consider changing jobs. Note: you’d have to maintain a similar position at the new company or your PERM (and thus your i-140) will be canceled Right now in CA the processing times for the i-485 is 12 to 18 months. Maybe you’ll be lucky and get scheduled for interview before (Mine was scheduled less than 2 months after filing the i-485, I got lucky here) Tweak to speed up the process: be on top of everything, have all the paperwork ready with copies (birth certificate, W2, paystubs, letter of employment, letters from previous managers, ....) so you can reply to your lawyers very fast (same day) with whatever documents they are asking. With that they will likely make sure to fill all the documents in a reasonable time which can shove weeks or even months off the whole process.
Note that PERM doesn't usually take a year these days. The prevailing wage determination is taking 4.5 months while PERM is only taking about 2 months. However either or both can randomly take much longer, so keep that risk in mind.
Stay, get your GC and than move!
If your priority date is current I would strongly suggest you not to change job . Any perm process takes a minimum of 1 year till i140. This is provided everything goes well . Get green card and stay in company for 6 months and it will reduce the risk to zero. You never know what process will change now a days.
Its been approximately 2 years on my h1b and my company didn't initiate my perm yet.
