From the brex guy. Curious if it’s just a bunch of advertising techno jumbo or an actual product that’s completely separate from banks?
Founders of column are the former founder of Plaid and his wife. Brex is a major customer of Column.
What do you think of it? How can they tackle the banking industry? Like regulation? Is there room for growth for them? I imagine they’ll have a better interface, similar to Robinhood. Also curious if they’ll compete with CCs?
It’s banking infrastructure as a service.
What’s that like? Will growth be stifled by regulation? Also curious if they’ll compete in the consumer cc space as well
The unique thing about Column is that they are the provider and also the regulated entity, so in theory the regulators know exactly what Column is doing. That’s a rare combo in the U.S. Will that last? That’s ultimately a political decision. Does Column compete in consumer? Maybe you should check out their other identity, Northern California National Bank…
Oh thanks, that’s the bank they bought? Have they migrated the bank software to be on their platform? That bank doesn’t even have an app 🤔
